Recaldent Tooth Mousse
What is it. Tooth Mousse is a water-based creme containing Recaldent©CPP-ACP (Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate. It is sugar free with a special blend of polishing, cleaning and dentinal tubule sealing agents. It comes in 5 tasty flavours - melon, mint, strawberry, tutti fruitti and vanilla. When CPP-ACP is applied in the oral environment, it will bind to biofilms, plaque, bacteria, hydroxyapatite (tooth structure) and soft tissue loclising bio-available calcium and phosphate

How to apply it. Same as Tooth Mousse Plus, Recaldent Tooth Mousse is applied at night before sleep and after cleaning your teeth with normal toothpaste. Simply rub a smear over all the tooth surfaces. The use dental floss and floss the mousse between the teeth. Leave alone for 3 minutes. You can choose your preference of flavour, but we cannot guarantee this, it depends on our stock at the time.

Saliva will enhance the effectiveness of CPP-ACP and the flavour will help stimulate saliva flow. The longer CPP-ACP and saliva are maintained in the mouth, the more effective the result. Recaldent Tooth Mousse provides extra protection for teeth. It helps to neutralise acid challenges from acidogenic bacteria in plaque. It helps to neutralise acid challenges from other internal and external acid sources.

Recaldent Tooth Mousse Plus
This stronger Mousse is recommended at night when a patient has marked salivary dysfunction (dry mouth), for example, because of medications, systemic illnesses, or salivary gland disease, because of enhanced risk of mineral loss from dental caries or erosion of teeth. These patients would also benefit from daytime applications of GC Dry Mouth Gel to gain symptomatic relief for oral dryness. Patients should be at least six years of age before using Tooth Mousse Plus.

Under this age children should only use the Original Tooth Mousse because of fluoride ingestion. The unique CPP-ACP (amorphous calcium phosphate and fluoride) complexes in Tooth Mousse Plus werre developed at the University of Melbourne Scholl of Dental Science.

What About Pregnant Mothers. There are no proven dental or general health benefits or risks from pre-natal fluoride containing products. Fluoride supplements are not indicated in pregnancy, however Tooth Mousse Plus can be used as a topical treatment in high caries risk pregnant women or in situations where reflux is causing dental erosion and dentinal hypersensitivity.

How to Apply It. Just like Tooth Mousse, Tooth Mousse Plus is applied toically to at-risk surfaces. This can be done by first cleaning the teeth and then smearing a small amount of Tooth Mousse Plus across the tooth surfaces with a clean finger or cotton-tipped applicator. When applied immediately before bed, the material is then left in place, to dissolve slowly overnight. It is not rinsed out. Tooth Mousse Plus can also be applied topically to teeth using a custom -made tray such as a bleach guard made for a whitening gel.
